In Uttar Pradesh, five more deaths due to encephalitis were reported in the eastern districts during the past 24 hours. AIR Gorakhpur correspondent reports that with this the death toll this year due to the disease has mounted to 273.Over sixty patients suspected of encephalitis have been admitted to BRD Medical College Hospital, Gorakhpur and government hospitals of adjoining districts. Our correspondent reports, that most of the cases are water-born encephalitis.
