In China, 13 people, including six tourists, were killed and 175 injured when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck a remote, mountainous part Sichuan province last night. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake hit a sparsely populated area 200 kilometers northwest of the city of Guangyuan.<br/> <br/>According to the China Earthquake Networks Center,the quake's epicenter was located in the popular tourist destination of Jiuzhaigou at an estimated depth of 20 kilometers. The state-run Xinhua news agency said as many as 31,500 tourists had been evacuated from the quake zone. Officials said that a total of 108 aftershocks were recorded, all below 4.0 magnitude. <br/><br/>Police and firefighters are rescuing people trapped in the rubble. Hours after the last night's 7- magnitude, another 6.6-magnitude earthquake jolted the Jinghe County in northwest China's Xinjiang today morning. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for all-out efforts to rapidly organize relief work and rescue the injured people after the quake. <br/>Sichuan province is prone to earthquakes. More than 70,000 people were killed in a quake there in 2008.<br/><br/>
