Death of opposition leader Mousavi’s nephew under investigation

Tehran Police Commander has announced that death of opposition leader Mousavi’s nephew is under investigation and the result will be announced soon. According to Iranian news agency, Police Commander Azizollah Rajabzadeh said in a statement that those died on Sunday were killed in a mysterious way and the experts are investigating the suspected elements in the incident. The Iranian channel Press TV reported that at least eight people died during Iran's anti-government protests in Tehran. While opposition leaders blamed security forces for the deaths, Iran's deputy police chief claimed that the forces were not involved in this. Tehran witnessed anti-government protests on the anniversary of the Shia Muslim Ashura religious event on 27th of this month, with security forces clashing with protesters. Protestors took to some central and downtown streets in Tehran and chanted slogans against top Iranian government officials. Meanwhile, opposition websites have reported that government has cracked down on its opponents, arresting critics as well as several aides to main opposition leaders.
