In Chhattisgarh, a sessions court at Durg has sentenced seven people, including a tantrik and his wife, to death after finding them guilty in a human sacrifice case. The incident of human sacrifice of a two year old boy took place in Bhilai Nagar in November, 2010, which led to the arrest of 11 people, including four minors. Another person named as accused, is absconding. Our correspondent reports that four minors are facing trial in a juvenile court.

The convict and his wife performed human sacrifice to increase their so called tantrik powers. The boy was brutally killed by chopping off his body parts which were buried at different places. The court found this murder fell in the category of rarest of the rare cases and awarded capital punishment to the accused.
