BJP leader and Union Minister Smriti Irani today lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party for its allegations against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, saying that the party is running a blasphemous and preposterous campaign bordering on political hysteria. Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Ms Irani said the report that AAP spokespersons had been citing today was not the result of an investigation by the party, but a report by the DDCA itself.

She said, the BJP resolutely stands behind Mr Jaitley and condemns malicious attempt of AAP and Arvind Kejriwal to deflect public attention from a corrupt officer. She said, there is no substances in the AAP charges and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office clearly said that there were no allegations against Mr Jaitley. Ms Irani said, the blatant effort by AAP to shield a corrupt official betrays the principals of Anna Hazare.
