Delhi Development Authority, DDA, will build one lakh houses for the economically weaker section of the society within six months. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today Minister for Urban Development Mr. Kamalnath said that 30 thousand houses have already been completed .He said, DDA has been asked to only build houses for the weaker section and provide parking facilities to the existing DDA flats. He said DDA has been directed to set up an online setup for conversion of properties from leasehold to freehold. Mr. Kamalnath said that there will be no sealing and demolition of the houses and shops up to 31st December 2014 as Parliament today passed Delhi Law Special Provision Bill 2011 .He added that the proposed act will provide temporary relief and minimize avoidable hardship and irreparable loss to the people of Delhi.
