DDA to set up separate unit for quake-prone buildings

The Delhi Development Authority, DDA, has decided to set up a separate unit to address the problem of unsafe buildings in the national capital. The unit will work for reconstruction of those buildings which have been considered vulnerable to earthquakes. This was decided in a meeting chaired by Delhi Lt Governor and DDA Chairman Tejendra Khanna in New Delhi. In the meeting, Mr. Khanna suggested that the DDA should address the issues of unsafe buildings more effectively in public interest as Delhi being in seismic zone.
