Daying Ering wildlife sanctuary in threat due to Illegal hunting practices

In Arunachal Pradesh, Daying Ering wildlife sanctuary in East Siang district is under constant threat due to illegal hunting practices. During a surprise raid conducted by District Forest Officer Tashi Mize seized carcasses of one Hog-Deer (Axis Porcinus) identified as variety of Cervidae family and also rare species birds in possession of two nabbed hunters. Both the offenders have been arrested who dared to hunt in the buffer zone. A case has been lodged under Wildlife Protection Act. He assured that such raid would be continued by sanctuary officials and vigilance and monitoring would be intensified to check every unlawful activity.
