Day-long brainstorming session of Cong begins in Surajkund

The Congress party's brainstorming session or Samvad Baithak to chalk out the future strategy is underway at Surajkund in Haryana. Union ministers and top Congress leaders are attending the session to discuss the present political and economic situation in the country. The day-long meeting will also discuss the status of implementation of the 2009 party manifesto.

Earlier today, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi took a bus ride along with other leaders to the venue of the session from New Delhi. They were accompanied by senior party leaders Ahmed Patel and Ambika Soni. Cabinet Ministers including A K Antony, P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Ghulam Nabi Azad and C P Joshi were also on the same bus.
Our Correspondent reports, Congress President Sonia Gandhi will give her opening remarks on political matters followed by a discussion on the present political situation. The Prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh will speak on economic challenges faced by the country. Finance minister P Chidambaram will initiate a discussion on the economic situation.
