In Nepal, normal life in Kathmandu and adjoining districts have been affected today due to a day-long Bandh call by Newa-Tamsaling Joint Struggle Committee.The Committee comprising seventeen ethnic groups are demanding assurance of their ethnic rights in the new constitution. Vehicles remained off the road and major marketplaces remain closed in all three districts of the valley and surrounding districts. Educational institutions and offices also remained closed. The Bandh organizers have however allowed the movement of emergency services, UN and Human Rights organizations. Torch rallies were held in the capital on Tuesday evening.
