On the ninth day of the competitions in Commonwealth Games, 21 gold medals are up for grabs today. The day will see the final events of the Games in Weightlifting and Rugby Sevens. Athletics will offer maximum nine Gold medals today. Indian teams are in the finals of the Men’s 4 into 100 meters and women's 4 into 400 meters relays. In Women’s 5000 meters, home hopes lie with Lalita Babbar and Jhuma Khatun. In Men’s Javelin Throw, India's Kashinath Naik, Samerjeet Singh and Rajender Singh are in pursuit of the yellow metal. In Men’s Triple Jump event, Renjith Maheshwari will be in contention for the Gold. In Shooting, 4 gold medals will be decided today. Tejaswini Sawant and Meena Kumari are strong contenders for gold in women's Singles 50 meters Rifle prone event. In men's 25 meters Standard Pistol Pairs, Samresh Jung and Chandrashekhar Kumar Choudhry will be in action while Gagan Narang and Hariom Singh will be medal hunting in men's 50 meters Rifle prone event. In Pairs 10 meters Air Pistol women's category Annuraj Singh and Heena Sidhu are in contention. Rugby Sevens, Gymnastics and Table Tennis will account for one gold each today. Two golds will be on offer in Weightlifting and Three in Aquatics Diving events.Indians will also be in action in Badminton, where Saina Nehwal be looking to secure a final berth in the women's Singles. She will face Susan Eglestaf of Scotland. In men's singles Semifinals, Chetan Anand plays Malaysia's Wei Chong Lei while P Kashyap meets Rajiv Ouseph of England. India will also be hoping for a good show in Women's Doubles semifinal from the duo of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa. In Squash, India's Mixed double pair of Saurav Ghoshal and Deepika Pallikal will compete against the Malaysian team of Nicol David and Hee Beng for a berth in the semifinals. All eyes will be on Major Dhyanchand national Stadium, where India faces England in Semifinal of the men's hockey event. The winner will face Australia in the final.
