Davis cup tie play-off between India and Brazil gets underway at Chennai

The Davis Cup World Group Tennis Play-off Tie between India and Brazil begins today in Chennai. Rohan Bopanna will take on World No. 28, Thomaz Belluci in the first Singles match. The second Singles will be played between India's top-ranked Somdev Dev Verman and Ricardo Mello. The duo of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi will take on the Brazilian combination of Bruno Soares and Marcelo Melo in the Men's Doubles match on Saturday. The two reverse singles will be played on Sunday with Bopanna taking on Ricardo and Somdev playing Bellucci. A victory against Brazil will propel India to the World Group which comprises the top 16 elite teams. All India Radio will broadcast the live commentary alternately in Hindi and English on all three days of the Tie. The commentary on today's Singles matches can be heard from 1130 hours onwards.
