Uzbekistan have taken a Two-nil lead over India in the Asia Ocenia Group I Davis Cup Tennis tie. At Namangan, Uzbekistan, today, India lost both the opening singles in lop-sided contests. Denis Istomin defeated debutant Sanam Singh in straight sets 6-3 6-2 6-4 to give his country 1-0 lead. In the second match, Farrukh Dustov beat Yuki Bhambri, also in straight sets 6-4 6-4 6-3. To stay alive in the tie, India will again have to depend on their seasoned doubles pair of Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna to pull one back so that reverse singles matches will remain consequential.
