With this victory, Spain leads India 1-0. Lopez replaced world No.1 Rafael Nadal who is suffering from an upset stomach. In the second match now underway between Spaniard David Ferrer and India's Saketh Myneni, Ferrer leads 2-1 in the first set when reports last came in.
