Date for filing of IT Returns extended in J&K

The Income Tax Department in Jammu and Kashmir has extended the date of filing of returns of Income for the assessment year 2010-11 for all category of cases in the State to November 30, 2010. AIR correspondent R.K. Raina reports that the extension in filing returns has been given in view of disturbances of general life caused due to the law and order problem in the State particularly in Kashmir valley. Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Amritsar, G.R. Sufi, on whose recommendations the date of filing Income Tax returns has been extended, has made an appeal to all the assesses of Jammu and Kashmir to take benefit of this concession and file returns of Income by November 30, 2010.
