<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the traditional biannual 'Durbar Move' this year from Jammu to Srinagar was deferred and could not take place because of the prevailing COVID-19 circumstances. However, to ensure smooth functioning of both the Secretariats at Jammu and Srinagar, the authorities successfully implemented the e-office project of digitising the official records in the Secretariats.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The practice of the Secretariat to function in Jammu during the months of winter and in Srinagar during summers which was started in 1872 because of weather conditions of Jammu and Kashmir could not materialise this year owing to the unprecedented outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic. The objective for not shifting the Darbar this year to Srinagar was to ensure the safety of the employees for not getting contracted by the contagious Corona virus infection. However, for the first time in the history of the Durbar Move, the files and other office records were moved electronically between both the Secretariats in e-office mode. This initiative has undoubtedly saved the expenditure that used to be unnecessarily incurred while transporting the office records physically between Jammu and Srinagar which are around 300 kilometres apart.</span><br />''  <br />
