Dara fake encounter case: HC asks Rathore to surrender

Rajasthan High Court has ordered former BJP Minister Rajendra Rathore, currently chief whip of the BJP legislature party, to surrender before a trial court for his alleged involvement in the infamous fake encounter of bootlegger Dara Singh. The Court also set aside the trial court's order of May 31 that had discharged him in the case.

Justice Ajay Rastogi of the High Court delivered this order while admitting the review petitions filed separately by the CBI and the slain Dara's widow Sushila Devi challenging the trial court's order. Justice Rastogi also permitted the CBI to force Rathore's surrender in case he does not do it willingly before the court.

Rathore's Counsel Ajay Kumar Jain said that his client would move the Supreme Court against the High Court's order.
