In Chhattisgarh, the encounter between the police and the naxalites in the Dantewada district today ended without any loss on either side. This was stated by Mr. T.J.Langkumer, I.G. Police , Bastar division to AIR News this evening. The encounter took place in the jungle near Gumiapal under the Kirandool police station area today and lasted for about 3 hours with intermittent firings from both sides.According to the police, naxalites had tried to ambush a police search party in the Gumiapal jungles but were promptly challenged by the policemen, which evaded any casualty.Meanwhile, additional reinforcements have been sent to the spot of today’s encounter between the police and the naxalites in the Dantewada district. The encounter took place in the jungle near Gumiapal under the Kirandool police station area.Mr. T.J.Langkumer, I.G. Police Bastar division told AIR News a shortwhile ago that since the police parties have not yet returned from the site of the incident, nothing specific can be said at present. He further said that due to heavy rains in the area, it is not being possible to establish communication links with the police personnels at the site.
