Damascus condemns Turkey presence in north Syria

<span style="color: #222222;">Damscus has condemned Turkey's military presence in northern Syria as a violation of a 1998 protocol between the two countries. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The foreign ministry said that Ankara has repeatedly breached the Adana deal throughout Syria's eight-year war. The ministry also accused Turkey of supporting terrorists. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has insisted the Adana Protocol gives his country the legal right to deploy troops in the neighbouring country. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Adana Agreement was signed in October 1998 to end a crisis between Syria and Turkey, sparked by the presence of the PKK terror organisation in Syrian territory. </span><br />
