The Supreme Court has referred to a larger bench the issue of fixing accountability for damage to public and private properties during agitations. A bench, headed by Justice JS Khehar, said the matter is important and required thorough consideration.<br/><br/>It was hearing a plea of Gujarat Patidar leader Hardik Patel seeking quashing of sedition charges and FIR lodged against him. Earlier, the apex court had said, it would lay down parameters to fix accountability for losses on organisers. Terming the case sensitive in nature, the court barred media from reporting the proceedings of the hearing till the final decision.
