Nephew of the Dalai Lama, Jigme Norbu has died in the United States when he was struck by a car while marching in a pro-Tibet demonstration on a Florida highway. In a statement, the Highway Patrol said Norbu was walking on the edge of a local highway in north-eastern Florida when he was hit by an SUV yesterday. According to an activist website, Norbu, 43, was on a Valentine Day 'Walk for Peace' with other activists to raise awareness of human rights abuses in Tibet. Dalai Lama's secretary said the spiritual leader was saddened to hear of his nephew's death.
