Mumbai is today celebrating one of the most awaited festivals of the year 'Dahi Handi'. This year the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has facilitated the participation of the famed Castellers da Vilafranca Group from Spain known for forming human pyramids in Europe.AIR correspondent reports:Dahi Handi Mandals are going global this Gokul Ashtami.It is an East meets West, Mumbai's Govinda groups and the famous Castellers compete on the streets to form the highest human pyramid.In Spain, the formation of human pyramids is a tradition during the harvest season, while in Mumbai the Dahi Handi pyramids celebrate lord Krishna's childhood antics.The Spanish troupe will also form a human pyramid at the gate way of India as a mark of respect, for victims of the 26/11 terror attacks. On the streets of Mumbai thousands of young people dressed as Lord Krishna are chanting Govinda Ala re adding to the festive atmosphere.
