In Mumbai, Dahi Handi Celebrations are being held with great joy. The chanting of 'Govinda Ala re' is immersing the city in the festival marking the birth of Lord Shri Krishna.A Spanish flavour is added to Dahi Handi celebrations this year as the famous Spanish group Castellers da Villafranca is competing with local Govinda groups to break the Dahi Handis. Keeping in mind safety issues, Mumbai Police Commissioner has issued a circular to all Dahi Handi organisers consisting of mandatory safety measures to be implemented.
