A local court in Pune has remanded Virendra Tawade, the accused in the murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar, to CBI custody till the 16th of this month. Tawade, who was arrested by CBI in Panvel near Mumbai on Friday night, was produced before the court yesterday. <br/><br/>Accepting the central agency's plea, the court said, considering the seriousness of the offence and the stage of investigation, Tawade's custodial investigation was required.<br/><br/>Tawade is the first accused to be arrested in the nearly three-year-old case. Dabholkar was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Pune on August 20, 2013.
