The Karnataka High Court has adjourned till 6th October the hearing on the bail petition of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.
The vacation bench Judge Justice Rathnakala noted that objections need to be sought from the prosecution side and asked the Karnataka Government to appoint a special prosecutor for the purpose.
The court asked Jayalalitha’s counsel to approach the court after the vacations.
Jayalalitha had applied for bail and suspension of verdict pronounced by a special court that had sentenced her and three others to four years imprisonment and fine of Rs 100 crores for her and Rs 10 crore fine each for three other convicts in the disproportionate asset case.
