The CBI has obtained clarifications from Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah while the in-custody interrogation of Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Jaganmohan Reddy came to a close this evening. The CBI has interrogated Jaganmohan Reddy in custody for past five days in connection with the Disproportionate Assets case against him following the High Court Directions. The CBI has grilled Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy about the flow of investments into his companies including his newspaper organisation, TV Channel and cement companies for the past five days in custody. The Central Investigating Agency has questioned him in the presence of two advocates and documents in hand. Besides, the CBI has summoned and questioned State IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah on issuing government orders relating to water allocation to those industries which invested in Jaganmohan Reddy’s companies. One of the close associates of the Kadapa MP who is an MLA and few senior officials have also been questioned in connection with the disproportionate assets case. Jaganmohan Reddy, who was arrested and on judicial remand till 11th of this month is facing charges of conspiracy in doling out favours to various industries those invested in his own business. Meanwhile, a CBI Special Court in Hyderabad has extended today the remand of state former Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana till 21st of this month and also rejected his bail petition. He was arrested in connection with the assets case against the Kadapa MP.
