DA case: CBI Court allows ED to question Jagan

A CBI special Court in Hyderabad has given its approval to the Enforcement Directorate to question Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Jaganmohan Reddy who was arrested in connection with the Disproportionate assets case against him. On a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI court gave its nod to question the Kadapa MP only after serving him summons. The Court also asked the ED to question him in the presence of his lawyers between 10 AM and 5 PM daily till 21st of this month. The ED will interrogate and record Jaganmohan Reddy’s statement under the Money Laundering Act.

Earlier, the central Agency had interrogated three other accused in the Assets case including suspended IAS officer B P Acharya, industrialist N. Prasad and senior officer Brahmananda Reddy at Chachalguda Jail.

The CBI has accused Jaganmohan Reddy for conspiring along with his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy when he was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, to dole out favours to companies those invested in his business. He is presently on Judicial Remand till 18th of this month.
Meanwhile, the CBI court has extended judicial remand of the accused in illegal mining case and Disproportionate assets cases till 18th of this month. The special court extended the remand of Gali Janardhan Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy, Srilakshmi, Rajagopal in OMC case and Brahamnanda Reddy, Nimmagadda Prasad and former state Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana in the assets case as their remand came to close today.
