A CBI special Court in Hyderabad has given its approval to the Enforcement Directorate to question Kadapa Lok Sabha Member Jaganmohan Reddy who was arrested in connection with the Disproportionate assets case against him. On a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI court gave its nod to question the Kadapa MP only after serving him summons.
The Enforcement Directorate has got the court’s nod to question YSR Congress Party President Y S Jaganmohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case. The Central Agency will record his statement under the Money Laundering Act with respect to the investments from foreign land in his business including a newspaper and TV Channel.
While granting permission, the CBI court has asked the ED to undertake the interrogation between 10 AM and 5PM daily in the presence of Jaganmohan Reddy’s lawyers. The ED is likely to continue interrogation till 21st of this month over the alleged illegal investments in his business. Jaganmohan Reddy is presently in Chanchalguda central jail in Hyderabad on Judicial Remand till 18th of this month on the charges of conspiracy along with his father Y S Rajasekhara Reddy the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to dole out favours to companies those invested in his business.
Earlier, the central agency had interrogated three other accused including suspended IAS officer B P Acharya, industrialist N. Prasad and senior officer Brahmananda Reddy in the assets case. -Lakshmi, airnews, Hyderabad
In a related development, the CBI special court in Hyderabad has extended the judicial remand of the accused in both illegal mining case and disproportionate assets cases till 18th of this month. The special court extended the remand of Karantaka former Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, Srinivasa Reddy, Rajagopal and Srilakshmi in OMC case and Brahamnanda Reddy, Nimmagadda Prasad and former Andhra Pradesh Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana in the assets case as their remand came to close today.
