Former DGP of Bihar D N Gautam has been appointed as the new security advisor to the Jharkhand government. The appointment comes in the wake of increased crime in the state on one hand and security forces getting better grip on the naxal affected areas. This appointment is seen as the move by Arjun Munda government to give impetus to crime control and better operational efficiency against the naxals.
