In Kerala, the Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit in Kalady today conferred D. Lit Degrees [honris causa] on Oscar awardee Rasul Pookutty and noted Malayalam film actor Mohanlal at a Special Convocation held at the university campus this afternoon. Eminent Sanskrit scholar Prof M Hariharaputra Sarma was also awarded D Lit degree at the function.<br/><br/>Prof Sarma received the degree in absentia. The Chancellor of the University and the state Governor Mr R S Gavai awarded the degrees.
