The cyclonic storm 'Thane' formed over South-East and adjoining South-West Bay of Bengal moved Westwards and lay centred on Wednesday over South-West and adjoining South-East Bay of Bengal, about 750 Km South of Gopalpur. The system is likely to move in West-North-Westwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm during the next 24 hours.The system is likely cross North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coast between Cuddalore and Nellore , close to South of Chennai on Friday morning. The cyclonic storm will come further close to Coast after 24 hours and there is probability of slight weakening before landfall. Under the impact of the cyclonic storm, rain or thundershower will occur at one or two places over some places of Odisha during next 24 hours. Distant Warning Signal Number-Two (DW-II) has been kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports in Odisha.
