Cyclonic storm Tauktae likely to cross Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Naliya around 18th May: IMD

<span style="color: #222222;">The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning that a deep depression over the Arabian Sea has intensified into cyclonic storm Tauktae and is likely to cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Naliya around 18th May.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to sources, the cyclonic storm Tauktae will be a very severe cyclonic storm from 16th to 18th May.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Met department said that Tauktae is very likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next six hours and into a very severe cyclonic storm during the subsequent 12 hours.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">It is very likely to move north-northwestwards and cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Naliya on 18th May.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR correspondent reports, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has called a high level core committee meeting at Gandhinagar to review the state preparedness in view of Severe Cyclonic Storm Tauktae.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He has directed the state administration to take all necessary steps with zero casualty approach.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">All district collectors in the coastal region have been asked to ensure the safe return of fishermen who went in the sea.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Rupani also asked to make special arrangements for the Covid patients taking treatment in the coastal areas.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The coastal districts of South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch region have been asked to remain on high .</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">15 NDRF teams reached Jamnagar for deployment in the coastal Saurashtra.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Local met office has predicted rains in some parts of Saurashtra and Kutch from tomorrow as an impact of a cyclonic storm. </span><br />''
