The Cyclonic storm-PHYAN over east-central Arabian Sea has moved north-ward direction and lay centered at 250 kilometers of west- northwest of Goa this morning. According to Meteorological Department, the system is likely to move north- northeastwards and cross South Gujarat and North Maharashtra coast between Alibaug and Valsad by this evening or late tonight. Quoting Official Sources, AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that sea conditions on Maharashtra and south Gujarat coast will remain very rough and fishermen have been advised not to venture the sea. Danger signals have been put up at all ports of South Gujarat and district administrations have been asked to remain alert.According to Met office, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours. Winds and squalls up to 75 kilometers per hour are likely along and off the Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra coasts as well as Lakshdweep over this period.
