Cyclonic storm LAILA likely to hit between Ongole and Visakhapatnam

The Cyclonic storm LAILA in Bay of Bengal has further moved towards the coast of Andhra Pradesh and is lay centered at about 550 Kilometers South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam.<br/><br/>It is likely to intensify further and move in a West-North Westerly direction and cross Andhra Coast between ongole and Visakhapatnam by early hours of Thursday. <br/><br/>Under its influence rain or thunder showers likely at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours and isolated extreme rainfall (25 cms) also likely during the same period. <br/><br/>Gale winds, speed reaching 65 to 75 KMPH likley along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh during the above period and it may increase subsequently as the system moves close to coast.<br/><br/>Sea conditions will be high to very high along and off coastal Andhra Pradesh. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea. <br/><br/>Danger signal number seven hoisted at Nizampatnam, Machilipatnam, Bheemunipatnam, Vadarevu and Kakinada ports. Danger signal number six hoisted at Visakhapatnam prot while danger signal number five hoisted at Krishnapatnam port.<br/><br/>The Andhra Pradesh government has alerted the administrative machinery in the coastal districts to take all possible and adequate measures in facing the calamity.
