Cyclone and thunderstorm have left a trail of devastation in Bihar and West Bengal killing 95 people. <br/>In Bihar, atleast 56 persons were killed with Araria district bearing the brunt of the storm losing a maximum of 28 lives. 25 lost their lives in Purnia, 2 in Kishanganj and 1 in Supaul districts of the state.<br/>AIR Patna correspondent reports that over two hundred persons have been injured and they have been admitted to local hospitals for treatment. Casualities are likely to go uo when the debris will be removed. Most of the casualities are from remote rural areas. Standing crops have been destroyed and a number of cattles have also been killed in the disaster. Electric poles and several trees have been uprooted. Communication system has been disrupted considerably following damage of mobile and telephone towers. An estimated over fifty thousand people have been hit by the natural disaster. Over ten thousand thatched houses have been blown away in the strong wind and thousands of people have become homeless. The wall of Araria Divisiaonal Jail has fallen and instruction has been given to shift them to Purnia jail. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar made an aerial survey of the cyclone affected areas and review the damage and relief operations in the backdrop of cyclone and hailstorm. Relief and rescue operations have been stepped up. An exgratia of one lakh fifty thousand each of the next to the kin of the deceased.<br/>In West Bengal, the death toll in the cyclone in North Dinajpur district has gone up to 39. According to official sources, the storm which lashed in the district last night caused havoc in which around 50 thousand mud houses were destroyed and electricity connections have been snapped. The Karandighi Sub Division in the district is the worst affected where 18 people were died. The District Administration has opened a control room to co-ordinate the relief and rescue works. <br/>
