Cyclone storm to bring rains in TN, Puducherry for: weathermen

A deep depression lying 700 km south east of Chennai has intensified into a cyclonic storm and is likely to bring rainfall at many places over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the next two days. The weather office said in Chennai that the storm, named "Ward", is expected to move in north westerly direction towards Tamil Nadu coast. Under its influence, heavy rainfall at many places is likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from today.<br/><br/>Winds speed reaching 55-65 kmph are likely to occur off Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts, and fishermen are advised not to venture into sea as it will be very rough.<br/><br/>The deep depression over south-west and adjoining south east Bay of Bengal has moved further northwards and intensified into a cyclonic storm ‘Ward’. It remained practically stationary and lay centered 550 km off Nagapattinam and 700 km off South-south east of Chennai.
