Cyclonic storm Nilofar over west central and adjoining south west Arabian Sea has been intensified into a severe cyclonic storm.
According to Met department, cyclonic storm Nilofar lay centered about 1,180 kilometers south west of Naliya-Gujarat this morning. Met officials said that severe cyclonic storm Nilofar moved north wards and would intensified in to very severe cyclonic storm during next 24 hours.
Initially, it would move northwards during next 24 hours and then re-curve to northeast direction to cross north Gujarat and adjoining Pakistan coast around Naliya by 31st October. Gujarat Government has made elaborate arrangements in view of cyclonic storm Nilofar.
Danger signal have been hoisted at all ports on Gujarat coast and fisherman have been advised to return from the sea.
Under the influence of this cyclonic storm heavy to very heavy rain fall would occur along the coastal districts of Saurashtra and Kutch from 30th morning.
Squally winds speed reaching 45 to 55 kilometers per hour along and off Gujarat coast would became 100 to 110 kilometer per hour at the time of its landfall. Fishermen out in sea along and off Gujarat coast have been warned to return to the coast. All fishing operations have been suspended and people living in the coastal areas have been warned to remain alert.
