A low pressure area reminiscent of cyclone Nilam persists over Telangana and adjoining coastal Andhra Pradesh has thrown normal life out of gear in most parts of the State . Under its influence fairly widespread rain or thundershowers would occur at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and decrease gradually.

Heavy rainfall is predicted at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha during next 24 hours.

Narsapur in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh recroded the season’s highest rainfall at 31cms.
