The Commonwealth Games Federation President Michael Fenell says, he is pleased to assess the preparedness of the Games venues though a great deal of details still need to be attended to. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi this evening, Fenell said that the reports of corruption are of great concern and they should be inquired into by the concerned authorities. Mr. Fenell further said that certain works in the games village are behind schedule and works like landscaping and cleanliness at various venues need to be taken up urgently. More from our correspondent. AIR Correspondent reports, addressing a crowded press conference this evening, Mr. Fenell down played the concerns regarding timely completion of construction and cleaning work at the games venues. His assertion that the situation is nothing strange has a certain bearing on such conditions on many other past editions of Commonwealth Games. Although Mr. Fenell did mention the urgency to get the pending details completed without further delay, he evinced confidence on security arrangements already made and are going to be in place as has been assured by the concerned agencies. Mike Fenell's optimism is reflected in his statement that the Delhi Commonwealth games are going to leave a lasting legacy to the people of India who would remember them with considerable pride and satisfaction.
