The delegates of the Commonwealth Games Federation inspected several venues of the 2010 games to be held in the capital next year amid concerns over the the preparations. Later the Chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Suresh Kalmadi claimed the delegation was happy with the progress made so far. The visit of the delegates comes ahead of the General Assembly of the Federation next week. One of the members of the federation, Ephrain Penn, however told reporters that a lot still needs to be done though quite a bit of work has been carried out.AIR correspondent Sarita Brara reports that With the countdown already begun for the Commonwealth Games to be held in the capital, delegates from 71 Commonwealth countries had the first hand experience of preparedness for the next year'ss mega sports event that India is hosting . Split into two groups, three buses carried thedelegates to inspect 10 venues of the games escorted by a police convoy Most of the members including the Secretary General of the Commonwealth Games Federation, Ms. Louise Martin appeared to be generally satisfied going by the comments made by them in the visitors book, Ms. Martiin wrote, Absolutely fantastic, the athlets will enjoy in her comments in the visitors book. Several of them were impressed by the workmanship and the facilities that will be provided to the participants. Although there were some concerns as well .one of them, the President of British Virgin Islands Olympic Committee, Ephrain Penn said that though quite a bit of work has been done, there is still a lot more to be done. Hopefully everything will be in place before the Big event .
