India assured of it's first medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games as Navjot Chana entered the Finals of Judo in the Men's 60kg Weight Divison.Navjot defeated South African D Le Grange in the semi finals. Earlier, he advanced through Round of 16 by win over T Pappas of Australia and Brandon Hodge of Wales in the Quarters.Judo also have 2 Indian Eve in the semi finals.Sushila Likmabam made a place in the Semi Finals after defeating Australian A Meyers in 48 Kg weight division.She will now face C Rayner of Australia in the semis. Kalpana Thoudam also entered the semi finals after she defeated Hannah Trotter of Australia in the quarters.In Table Tennis, the Indian Women's and Men's team gave a convincing start as they both over powered their opponents 3-Nil. Indian Eves defeated Barbados as S. Kumaresan and Monika Batra started the winning ways in Singles it was followed by Indian duo of M.S Patekar and S. Kumaresan in Doubles. Women's team now face Nigeria later in the evening.Indian Men's team defeated Vanuatu. H R Desai and SS Shetty recorded win in singles and duo of Anthony and SS Shetty also registered victory.Badminton Mixed Team recorded a 3-Nil victory over Ghana.Parupalli Kashyap in Men's Singles, Venkat Pusarla in Women's Singles and pair of Akshay Diwalkar and Parnav Chopra recorded victory for India.This was India's first Group stage match, they are slated later tonight against Uganda.
