Medal winners from across the globe in the ongoing Commonwealth games will carry with them an Anga-Vastra especially designed by the weavers of Madhya Pradesh. In an innovative approach, the Organising Committee of Games is presenting this art work of Chanderi weavers to the winning athletes along with the medals. Ministry of Textiles Secretary Rita Menon said that this is an Indian way of honoring athletes and with this they will take a part of India with them. The anga vastra which will adorn the neck of each medal winner has the logo of official Games mascot, Shera.
