The preparations for the smooth conduct of Commonwealth Games are in the final lap. The work on most of the stadia has been completed and other developmental works for the conduct of Games is about to conclude. Briefing reporters in New Delhi today, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of Commonwealth Games, Mr. Suresh Kalmadi asserted that the standard of the Games will be world-class.Apart from Delhi Police, 30,000 scouts are being trained to ensure incident-free Games. Special arrangements are also being made at each and every sporting venue to disseminate information and other logistical support.AIR correspondent reports that the first venue operation team has shifted to Talkatora Stadium, the venue for boxing events. The teams for all the Games are responsible for the conduct of the Games. The mega-sports event begins on the 3rd of October and will conclude on the 14th. Centre and Delhi government has already declared a holiday on the concluding day of sports extravaganza. Delhi government has also decided to close educational institutions during the Games.
