Most of the Commonwealth Games Federation members have expressed satisfaction over the preparations for the 2010 games to be held next year in the capital. The Secretary General of the Federation, Ms. Louise Martin after undertaking a tour with fellow delegates to various sites said, ‘It was absolutely fantastic’. She expressed these sentiments in her remark in the Guest Book at the Games Village. Our correspondent says that the delegates who visited a number of stadiums today were satisfied with the progress at each venue. They were split into two groups and taken on separate tours where they were briefed about the progress made, the pace at which the construction is being made and the prospective date for completion. Many of the delegates were impressed by the projects, workmanship and the facilities that will be provided to the participants.The visit of the delegates comes ahead of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Games Federation to be held in Delhi next week. The President of the Federation Michel Fennell who arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations for the games met the Sport Minister Mr. M.S. Gill. He is also likely to meet the Prime Minister during his five day stay.
