A special meeting of Congress Working Committee, CWC, was convened in New Delhi today at the Party Chief Mrs Sonia Gandhi's residence to give farewell to UPA's Presidential nominee Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the senior most member of Congress Working Committee.

Besides Mrs Gandhi and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the CWC members and permanent invitees attended the meeting.

Mr. Mukherjee will resign on Tuesday as Finance Minister and from CWC in a day or two ahead of filing nomination papers for the Presidential election. He is to file his nomination papers for the Presidentship on Thursday.
