UPA's Presidential nominee Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, the senior most member of Congress Working Committee, CWC, will be given a farewell by the party's top brass including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Party Chief Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.

An informal meeting of CWC has been convened today at the residence of Mrs. Gandhi to give a farewell to Mr. Mukherjee. Besides the CWC members, permanent invitees would also attend the meeting to be chaired by Mrs. Gandhi.

Talking to reporters in West Bengal on Sunday, Mr. Mukherjee said that he will resign as Finance Minister on the 26th of this month and from CWC in a day or two ahead of filing nomination papers for the Presidential election. Mr Mukherjee is likely to file his nomination papers on 28 June, two days before the last day for the purpose.
