The Central Vigilance Commission, CVC has recommended major penalty against 226 officers. They include 50 from Department of Communications, 36 from Central Board of Excise and Customs, 23 from Ministry of Railways and from other services.According to an official release, the commission also disposed of 804 cases during last month referred to it for advice. Of these, 667 complaints were sent for necessary action, whereas 48 complaints were sent for investigation and report. Recoveries to the tune of about 2.78 crore rupees were effected after Commission conducted technical examination of some departments.
