The Central Vigilance Commission CVC has recommended imposition of major penalty against 165 officers for their alleged involvement in corrupt practices. They include 22 from Ministry of Railways followed by 17 from Union Bank of India, 13 from Punjab National Bank, 11 each from Corporation Bank and South Eastern Coalfields Ltd., 9 from EPFO, 8 from Ministry of Urban Development and other departments.
AIR correspondent quoting official sources reports, CVC has effected recoveries to the tune about 6 crore rupees after it conducted technical examination of some departments. The Commission also disposed of 1681 cases during July this year referred to it for advice.
