In Assam, the Central Vigilance Committee on Public Distribution System, headed by Justice D P Wadhwa is visiting different parts of the State from tomorrow. Justice Wadhwa, accompanied by senior Committee functionaries, will visit field offices and hold discussion with senior officials of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and others.According to official sources, the committee will also inspect files and documents on appointment of Fair Price Shop dealers and commission payable, complaint and enforcement mechanism for last five years and award of tenders for transportation of food grains. The Committee will look into the maladies that are affecting the proper functioning of Public Distribution System in the State and also suggest remedial measures.
