CVC asks chief vigilance officers to enhance their forensic science capabilities

The Central Vigillance Commission CVC has asked all Chief Vigilance officers of public sector units, banks and other state-run organisations to enhance their forensic science capabilities to investigate and help curb corruption. <br/><br/>In a recent circular issued by the commission,many professional organisations undertake forensic examinations that can be useful for resolving important criminal and civil disputes cases.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, the Commission has recommended departmental action against 132 officers including 37 from Central Board of Excise and Customs, 13 in Syndicate Bank, 12 from Ministry of Railways, nine from Canara bank and eight from Municipal Corporation of Delhi during the month of March.<br/><br/>The Vigilance Commission has made recoveries of about 45.46 lakh rupees in the month of March from different organisations for alleged irregularities in procurement procedures.
